Welcome to St. Mary of the Snow Roman Catholic Church!

St. Mary’s is located in the historic Hudson Valley village of Saugerties, New York.  The church is over 175 years old, and is one of the oldest in the Archdiocese of New York.  The church was the first Catholic church built between NYC and Albany.  It was once a part of the Underground Railroad.

In 1989, a fire nearly destroyed the church, but proving itself a strong community of faith, the church was repaired and rebuilt into what it is today–authentically historical on the outside and bright and welcoming on the inside.  Irish Catholics that worked in the area in the 1800′s had no place to attend Mass, so eventually land was given near the village dump.  All that is left today is a magnificent church, with incredible views, and a great Catholic community that greatly loves its Liturgies.

Parishioners and visitors alike fall in love with our Liturgies.  Our music program is among the best in the Hudson Valley!  Our Religious Education is outstanding, and our Clergy are beloved!

We hope you’ll spend a few minutes learning a little more about us on this website.  Then, come and visit us and experience a vibrant and welcoming community of Roman Catholics.
